ACTRIS receives ESFRI Landmark status
On 7 December 2021, the European Union awarded the ESFRI Landmark status to ACTRIS. The award of Landmark status means that ACTRIS is now recognised as an important element of the competitiveness of the European Research Area.
The status update came as part of the new ESFRI Roadmap, which has now been published after a two-year work process involving numerous scientists and ESFRI delegates. In total, 13 Member States had successfully submitted an ERIC Step2 application. "This is another important milestone for ACTRIS on the way to a permanent European research infrastructure for short-lived climate drivers", emphasises Dr. Ulla Wandinger from TROPOS, who coordinates the German contribution to ACTRIS.
ESFRI, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures, is a strategic instrument for developing Europe's scientific integration and strengthening its international profile.
