Nucleation of aerosol particles from gaseous precursors is a major source of new particle number concentration in the earth's atmosphere.
TROPOS investigates this process from different angles:
- Under laboratory conditions, using laminar flow reactors as well as reaction chambers
- Under field conditions at atmospheric research stations
